Similarly, in another small, randomized, prospective study comparing metformin monotherapy to combination metformin and semaglutide in patients with PCOS with infertility, the combination treatment was found to yield a greater recovery of menstrual regularity, higher pregnancy rates during the follow-up period after semaglutide discontinuation, a significant reduction in CRP, a significant reduction in HDL and LDL, a greater reduction in testosterone and increase in SHBG, and a reduction in BMI in comparison to metformin monotherapy [100].
