In a 24-week RCT of individuals with PCOS and obesity (BMI 30–45 kg/m2), comparing exenatide (GLP-1 receptor agonist), combination exenatide (EQW), and dapagliflozin, combination dapagliflozin (DAPA) and metformin, and phentermine and topiramate (PHEN/TPM), the OGTT (oral glucose tolerance test) and HOMA-IRA values were improved in all treatment groups. The gene discussed is GLP1R; the disease is obesity due to melanocortin 4 receptor deficiency.
