Previous studies have reported the prognostic significance of HCT-ALB in older adults with sepsis in relation to in-hospital mortality,11 and have also reported elevated HCT-ALB values in patients with infectious diseases, thereby establishing it as a robust diagnostic indicator for such conditions.12 Therefore, we hypothesized that the HCTALB value might also be a potential biomarker for sepsis risk in patients with AP. This evidence concerns the gene ALB and alkaline phosphatase measurement.
