Laboratory findings revealed notable differences between the groups: the inflammatory marker C-reactive protein (CRP) was markedly elevated in the hypoglycemia group (median [IQR]: 12.8 [8.4–17.6] mg/L vs. 4.3 [2.1–7.9] mg/L, p < 0.01), while nutritional markers, including albumin (ALB) and prealbumin (PAB), were significantly lower (ALB: 34.5 ± 4.2 g/L vs. 39.1 ± 3.8 g/L, p < 0.01; PAB: 0.20 ± 0.07 g/L vs. 0.28 ± 0.08 g/L, p < 0.01).
