Since ezrin activation and its plasma membrane relocation require its Thr567 phosphorylation51, EA.hy926 cells were treated prior to bacterial infection with NSC66839452 (from now on, NSC66), an ezrin Thr567 phosphorylation inhibitor, which selectively blocks ezrin accumulation (Fig. 3A, B) and its downstream effects.
