FRA1 promotes metastatic progression of triple negative breast cancer (reviewed in [34]), pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma [35, 36], colon adenocarcinoma [37, 38], squamous cell carcinoma [39], and lung adenocarcinoma [40] in experimental models, and a role for FRA1 in influencing EMT as part of the metastatic process has been proposed for several cancers [34, 35, 38]. The gene discussed is FOSL1; the disease is squamous cell carcinoma.
