In the myocardial ischemia-reperfusion injury (MIRI) model, METTL3 increases m6A levels on lncRNA Small Nucleolar RNA Host Gene 8 (SNHG8), enabling it to bind PTBP1 and regulate ALAS2, thereby exacerbating oxidative stress and injury (Tang et al., 2023), thus promoting the occurrence and progression of HF following myocardial infarction.
