This result is consistent with a previous study finding pinolenic acid, an omega-6 polyunsaturated fatty acid found in pinenuts, to exhibit anti-inflammatory effects in patients with RA.43 We observed that dietary scores for tilapia negatively correlated with tender joint count (r = −0.41, p =0.02) and disease activity indices (SDAI: r= −0.40, p=0.02; CDAI: r=−0.44, p=0.01;DAS28-CRP: r=−0.44, p=0.01). This evidence concerns the gene CRP and rheumatoid arthritis.
