We found dysregulation of multiple collagen genes in neurons, see Figure-10 (COL11A1, COL12A1, COL13A1, COL22A1, COL9A2 and COL9A3) and multiple pathways related to extra-cellular matrix; collagen genes’ expression in neurons is documented194,195 and collagen deposition has been found to deplete and disrupt homeostasis of T-cells in HIV196,197 and has been investigated as a therapeutic avenue for repair and regeneration of central nervous system neurons in neurodegenerative diseases and aging198. Here, COL9A2 is linked to neurodegenerative disease.
