CRP and schizophrenia: Interestingly, Xie et al. (2023), using the Framingham cardiovascular risk score (Wilson et al., 1998) in patients with schizophrenia, found that the high-risk group had higher CRP levels than the non-high-risk group and that a CRP level of ≥2.13 mg/L was significantly associated with increased CVD risk in this population (Xie et al., 2023).
