Blood-derived monocytes (Ccr2+CD68–), inflammatory macrophages (Ccr2+CD68+) and activated perivascular macrophages (CD206+CD68+) in the perivascular space (Figures 3A, 3B, and S8) are present in the cortical ischemic stroke area within the first days after PT, coinciding with massive fibrinogen deposition (Figures 1B and 1C). Here, CCR2 is linked to ischemic stroke.
