Tauopathies comprise a subset of neurodegenerative disorders characterized by the accumulation of tau aggregates as a primary or secondary pathological feature, and include frontotemporal dementia (FTD)9, progressive supranuclear palsy (PSP)10, chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE)11, and Alzheimer’s disease (AD)12. The gene discussed is MAPT; the disease is early-onset autosomal dominant Alzheimer disease.
