Broadly consistent with our results, people with clonal hematopoiesis have an increased risk of future AML: the risk increase is modest for mutations in ASXL1, DNMT3A, and TET2 and greater for SF3B1, TP53, and IDH1/239,45,46, though for genes uncommonly mutated in normal blood, associations with future AML lack statistical resolution. This evidence concerns the gene TP53 and acute myeloid leukemia.
