MTHFR and stroke disorder: Contemporary research has identified several genetic susceptibility loci associated with an elevated risk of stroke onset, including polymorphisms in genes encoding angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) [10], alcohol dehydrogenase 1B (ADH1B) [11], methylenetetrahydrofolate reductase (MTHFR), methionine synthase (MTR) [12], interleukin-10 (IL-10) [13], and cytochrome P450 family 2 subfamily J member 2 (CYP2J2) [14].
