HMGA2 and cancer: Mechanistic investigations demonstrated that circSHKBP1 exerts a binding interaction with miR-766-5p, which in turn leads to the inhibition of HMGA2—the target gene of miR-766-5p; additionally, in LSCC models, the suppressive impact on cancer cells induced by circSHKBP1 knockdown was rescued by two interventions: the inhibition of miR-766-5p and the overexpression of HMGA2 (20).
