A 64-year-old male patient with multiple HCCs and portal vein invasion (Figure 1A) was classified as Child–Pugh B. Preoperative tumor markers showed an alpha-fetoprotein (AFP) level of 12,263.96 ng/mL (reference range: <10.0 ng/mL) and carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA) of 16.4 ng/mL (reference range: <10.0 ng/mL).
