In vitro study with macrophage cell line RAW264.7 further demonstrated that co-incubation of rEgAgB8/2 with LPS-induced RAW264.7 cells resulted in a decrease in the proportion of CD86+ macrophages (M1) and an increase in the proportion of CD206+ macrophages (M2) associated with reduced inflammatory cytokines (TNF-α and IL-1β) and increased regulatory cytokines (IL-10 and TGF-β), which was consistent with the results obtained from the in vivo experiments in a MI mouse model. This evidence concerns the gene TGFB1 and myocardial infarction.
