Since NLRP3 (NOD-like receptor family pyrin domain-containing 3) inflammasome is an important component of the innate immune system that stimulates caspase-1 activation and the secretion of proinflammatory cytokines IL-1β/IL-18 in response to inflammation and cellular damage (Kelley et al., 2019), we measured if NLRP3/caspase-1/IL-1β signal pathway is involved in the therapeutic effect of rEgAgB8/2 in MI mice. This evidence concerns the gene NLRP3 and myocardial infarction.
