These reports demonstrated that PTC suppressors, such as ataluren, G418, and gentamicin, can improve functional neurofibromin, which results in the reduction of phosphorylated ERK (p‐ERK) levels in mouse differentiated neuronal cells [13], in primary Schwann cells isolated from minipig neurofibromas [10], and moderately alleviating neurofibroma growth and paralysis phenotypes in a mouse model with nonsense mutation [14]. This evidence concerns the gene NF1 and neurofibroma.
