ATG3 and infection: Given that sqt-2 and collagen pathways are dysregulated in atg-3-mutant C. elegans (Fig 7A–7D) and that ATG-3 appears to regulate infection post-entry (Fig 5), we investigated whether enhanced virus levels in atg-3 mutants could be due to retention of virions in intestinal cells due to defective egress associated with disorganization of cellular structural components.
