Increased expression of 36 genes involved in neuronal pathways in treated rats (FDR < 0.004) compared to the control group. Of note, the genes Slc5a7, Chat, Slc18a3, Adcy5, and Cacna2d2, involved in acetylcholine neurotransmission, had the largest changes from the control group to the treatment group. OCMM treatments may provide a low-risk, beneficial treatment of age-related dementia and AD. Here, CACNA2D2 is linked to Alzheimer disease.
