In histone modifications, the downregulation of DUSP1 in peripheral blood DCs of asthmatic children is associated with histone H4 deacetylation; LPS promotes histone H3 acetylation in the promoter region of the IL-10 in mDCs, thereby enhancing IL-10 expression; and abnormal expression levels or functional impairments of the HDAC family (HDAC1, HDAC2, HDAC11) contribute to the pathogenesis of asthma, as well as the mechanisms of action of drugs targeting the translocation of histone methyltransferases (MLL, WDR5). This evidence concerns the gene WDR5 and asthma.
