GCKR and metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease: Second, two SNPs were found to potentially act as protective variants against pediatric MASLD: GCKR-Leu446Pro and LEPR-Lys109Arg, as their allele frequencies were significantly lower in the MASLD group than in the control group (GCKR-Leu446Pro: P_FDR=0.009, OR = 0.64; LEPR-Lys109Arg: P_FDR=0.009, OR = 0.51), suggesting that carriers of these variant sites may have a reduced risk of MASLD.
