In a study of 18 individuals with severe allergic disease, none of the assessed sleep dimensions correlated with TSPO binding despite patients having higher peripheral levels of TNF-α and IL-5 (but not IL-6, IL-8, or interferon-gamma (IFN-γ)), and worse sleep during pollen season compared to other times of the year [19]. The gene discussed is IFNG; the disease is allergic disease.
