Molecular features have been incorporated into the 2021 World Health Organization classification of brain tumors, based on which GBMs are diagnosed as such when presenting as a diffuse astrocytic tumor with isocitrate dehydrogenase (IDH) wild-type status, telomerase reverse transcriptase promoter mutation, epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) amplification, or +7/-10 chromosomal aberrations [5–8].
