A recent study demonstrated that mutations in KICSTOR subunit 2 (KICS2) affect the KICSTOR (KPTN, ITFG2, C12orf66, and SZT2 regulatory) complex, which negatively regulates mTORC1 signaling, resulting in intellectual disability (Buchert et al. 2025). Here, KICS2 is linked to Intellectual disability.
