Imaging to confirm sigmoid volvulus was performed in all cases. In 69.0%, only an abdominal X-ray was performed, while in 31.0% a CT scan was performed. In 11 cases (6.0%), signs of ischemia were identified on imaging. In terms of laboratory data, WBC counts were checked in nearly all cases (98.4%), with lactate (72.8%) and CRP (68.5%) less commonly assessed. Here, CRP is linked to ischemia.
