For a comprehensive appraisal, dietary records should be interpreted alongside paraclinical indices of systemic inflammation—such as C-reactive protein (CRP), interleukin-6 (IL-6), neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio (NLR), platelet-to-lymphocyte ratio (PLR), systemic immune-inflammation index (SII), serum albumin, pre-albumin, and ferritin—and composite tools like the Malnutrition–Inflammation Score (MIS) or the Patient-Generated Subjective Global Assessment (PG-SGA) [14,17,21,22]. This evidence concerns the gene CRP and nutritional deficiency disease.
