Our major findings point to (i) aberrant circulation of CD326+CD4+ T-cells, TCRγδ+, and TCRαβ+ cells with IEL-like phenotypes in the peripheral blood of HIV+ vs. HIV− participants and (ii) a positive association between TPV and the abundance of CCR6+CD4+ T-cells expressing or not the gut-homing marker Itgβ7, subsets, previously identified by our group as being highly permissive to HIV infection [74]. This evidence concerns the gene ITGB7 and HIV infectious disease.
