Chromosomal translocations in some acute myeloid leukemia (AML) cases produce a fusion gene known as ZMYND11-MBTD1 (ZM), which recruits TIP60/KAT5 to stemness-related gene regions, including MYC, HoxA, Meis1, and Sox4. This evidence concerns the gene MBTD1 and acute myeloid leukemia.
