In multivariable analysis, belonging to the cancer subgroup was associated with NT-proBNP ≥ 600 (OR 2.08, 95% CI 1.08–4.01; p = 0.029) and older age (OR 1.025 per year, 95% CI 1.005–1.045; p = 0.016), and inversely associated with D-dimer > 5 mg/L (OR 0.35, 95% CI 0.19–0.64; p < 0.001). This evidence concerns the gene NPPB and cancer.
