MTOR and gastric antral vascular ectasia: Mammalian target of rapamycin (mTOR) inhibitors such as sirolimus and everolimus also appear to enhance GI motility: sirolimus, like tacrolimus, interacts with motilin receptors in vitro and accelerates gastric emptying, while everolimus is clinically recognised to increase gut motility—manifesting as nausea, vomiting, and diarrhoea—even contributing to rare complications like gastric antral vascular ectasia [22,25].
