The demethylation effect was further supported by the reactivation of several genes silenced by DNA methylation in colon cancer cells, such as MGMT, carbohydrate sulfotransferase 10 (CHST10), and B-cell translocation gene 4 (BTG4), leading to inhibited cancer cell growth [59] (Figure 3). The gene discussed is CHST10; the disease is colonic neoplasm.
