Particularly noteworthy findings were obtained in studies on SW480 colon cancer cells stimulated with lipopolysaccharide, where LycT markedly reduced the expression of inflammatory genes, including tumour necrosis factor α (TNF-α), interleukin (IL)-1β, IL-6, cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2), and inducible nitric oxide synthase (iNOS). Here, IL6 is linked to malignant colon neoplasm.
