Tirzepatide is a dual incretin receptor agonist that interacts with both the glucose-dependent insulinotropic polypeptide receptor (GIPR) and the glucagon-like peptide-1 receptor (GLP-1R), contributing to its therapeutic effects in type 2 diabetes (T2D) and obesity (Figure 4).
