The optimal cut-off value of Gal-9 for discriminating sepsis from NIOF was 9719.78 ng/L (AUC, 0.638; 95% confidence interval [CI], 0.599–0.678; sensitivity, 76.3%; specificity, 47.4%; p < 0.001) and that for discriminating septic shock from sepsis 15,735.11 ng/L (AUC, 0.614; 95% CI, 0.562–0.667; sensitivity, 57.1%; specificity, 62.0%; p < 0.001).
