In prostate cancer cell lines, PIM1 has been demonstrated to induce senescence, as indicated by increased β-galactosidase activity (SA-β-Gal) and elevated P21 expression [40].More recently, Yang et al. [41] eported that PIM1 destabilizes UHRF1, resulting in DNA hypomethylation, genomic instability, increased P16 expression, and subsequent cellular senescence [41]. This evidence concerns the gene CDKN1A and prostate carcinoma.
