Studies from the University of Pretoria in South Africa have compared the diagnostic performance of different PSMA radioligands for staging and re-staging of prostate cancer.39, 40For example, in a prospective study done in collaboration with researchers from Germany, the Pretoria team reported similar lesion detection rates for18F-DCFPyL and18F-PSMA-1007 in patients with newly diagnosed prostate cancer.40These results are intriguing, considering the low urinary excretion of18F-PSMA-1007, which may enhance local intraprostate lesion detection. Here, FOLH1 is linked to prostate cancer.
