Given the evolving landscape of diabetes management and the potential gap between guideline recommendations and clinical practice, this study has two primary aims: (1) to evaluate the real-world prescribing patterns of SGLT2 inhibitors and GLP-1RAs in newly diagnosed T2DM patients with established cardiorenal risk factors and (2) to identify patient characteristics, clinical factors, and system-level factors associated with receiving prescriptions for these medications. This evidence concerns the gene SLC5A2 and type 2 diabetes mellitus.
