In the tumor compartment (SI Appendix, Fig. S1A), tumor growth and immune–tumor interactions are explicitly modeled: CAR-T and effector CD8+ T cells cause cytolysis of tumor cells, while M1 macrophages and DCs phagocytose tumor cells and tumor debris and mature into APCs (SI Appendix, Fig. S1B), which then recirculate to lymph nodes to prime naïve CD8+ T cells. The gene discussed is CD8A; the disease is neoplasm.
