MB and rhabdomyolysis: Rhabdomyolysis, although rare, is a potentially fatal complication associated with certain chemotherapeutic agents. Previous reports have documented the development of rhabdomyolysis in patients after receiving chemotherapy [13,14]. Our patient was frequently monitored in order to prevent the development of any such complication. While the exact mechanism remains unclear, it is hypothesized that chemotherapeutic drugs may cause direct muscle membrane injury, leading to the release of intracellular enzymes such as creatine kinase and myoglobin [13].
