Green tea supplementation has been shown to enhance hepatic acyl-CoA oxidase and medium-chain acyl-CoA dehydrogenase mRNA expression, increase β-oxidation activity, reduce hepatic COX-2 and prostaglandin E2 levels, and protect against NFκB activation in NAFLD animal models 33-36. This evidence concerns the gene ACADM and metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease.
