Finally, in prostate cancer, Wang et al showed that the circular RNA circCCDC7 (15,16,17,18,19) derived from exons 15 to 19 of the CCDC gene encodes a novel protein, circCCDC7-180aa, which functions as a tumor suppressor in prostate cancer by upregulating Fibronectin leucine-rich transmembrane protein 3 (FLRT3) (Fig. 8b) 69. This evidence concerns the gene FN1 and prostate carcinoma.
