Genes enriched in “Nervous system development” (Figure 3E) included GSK3b, which is reported to be involved in neuronal cell death and hippocampal atrophy (Sirerol-Piquer et al., 2011), and Discam, the overexpression of which inhibits dendrite branching (Alves-Sampaio et al., 2010; Sachse et al., 2019); in addition, Sema4d and Efna5, which have been reported to inhibit axon outgrowth as repulsive guidance factors (Wahl et al., 2000; Tasaka et al., 2012), were also enriched. This evidence concerns the gene GSK3B and hippocampal atrophy.
