In a cohort of individuals with obesity and type 2 diabetes undergoing RYGB, higher 30‐ and 60‐min insulin concentrations during an Oral Glucose Tolerance Test (OGTT) at 6 months predicted PBH at 12 months, whereas glucagon levels and a calculated β‐cell area index were not associated with PBH risk [23]. The gene discussed is INS; the disease is obesity due to melanocortin 4 receptor deficiency.
