ALB and Sepsis: Previous studies have indicated that RAR may play a crucial role in predicting mortality rates in elderly patients with sepsis.[9–11] Firstly, an elevation in RDW is commonly associated with increased inflammation and tissue damage, while a decrease in albumin ratio reflects the severity of the inflammatory state.[12,13] The RAR has been proposed as a novel index that combines the prognostic capabilities of both RDW and albumin.
