For example, HSPB8 promotes tumor growth in breast cancer (Piccolella et al., 2017), lung cancer (Yu et al., 2021), ovarian cancer (Suzuki et al., 2015), and gastric cancer (Li et al., 2014), while in other tumor types, such as hepatocarcinoma (Matsushima-Nishiwaki et al., 2017) and prostate cancer (Gober et al., 2003), HSPB8 could repress tumorigenesis.
