Correlation analysis of representative differentially expressed genes showed that interferon/inflammation-related genes (e.g., interferon regulatory factor 7 (Irf7), interferon-induced protein with tetratricopeptide repeats 1 (Ifit1), interferon stimulated gene 15 (Isg15), C-X-C motif chemokine ligand 10 (Cxcl10), C-C motif chemokine ligand 5 (Ccl5)) were coordinately upregulated following viral infection and, together with zinc-finger antiviral protein 1 (Zbp1), NLR family CARD domain containing 5 (Nlrc5), and caspase 4 (Casp4), formed a highly coherent, positively correlated module. This evidence concerns the gene ISG15 and viral infectious disease.
