Staining for neutrophils, identified by the lysozyme marker, was evident in the cytoplasm of scattered granulocyte-like cells in early granulomas (stages I and II), in necrotic areas and peripheral inflammatory infiltrates of advanced-stage granulomas (stages III and IV), as well as in the lung parenchyma without TBLs of both groups. This evidence concerns the gene LYZ and Granuloma.
