Many members of the conserved (TRIM) and novel (FinTRIM and Blood Thirsty) TRIM gene family are significantly upregulated in response to infection; 5 types of TRIM genes (trim35, trim25, trim3b, trim69 and trim16), 8 different FinTRIM genes (finTRIM72, finTRIM12, finTRIM66, finTRIM82, finTRIM67, finTRIM13, finTRIM14 and finTRIM16) and two blood thirsty gene family members (bty18, bty4) are upregulated. Here, TRIM35 is linked to infection.
