VIM and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease: Despite the pathological changes in lungs, we verified through both immunohistochemical (IHC) staining (Figure 2B; and Supplementary file Figure 2A) and Western blot (WB) analysis (Supplementary file Figure 2B) that the expression of the epithelial marker E-Cadherin decreased, while the mesenchymal markers N-Cadherin and Vimentin increased in the group of mice with COPD model.
