The elevated levels of nuclear MYC bind directly to the CD274 promoter, inducing PD-L1 expression, significantly inhibiting Granzyme B (GzMB) and Interferon-γ (IFNγ) levels in cocultured Cytotoxic T lymphocytes (CTLs), attenuating the cytotoxicity of CTLs, and contributing to the immune escape of NSCLC cells [72,73] (Fig. 3c).
